So day 3 in NewYork was rather miserable. The actual places and things we did were FAB but the weather was not on our side as it pretty much rained all day long :(.
The first thing we did was get get the subway to I think the south of Manhattan (don't quote me on this) where the twin towers were. We wanted to catch the staten island ferry so we could see the Statue Of Liberty. The ferry was free and lasted about half an hour. It literally went to this island to drop off and pick up commuters working in or out of the city.
We walked to Ground zero, a very somber and disheartening place to be. It was just so hard to image
how there are people out there in our world who could do something so evil to thousands of people and their families. The whole experience was heartbreaking but were so glad we visited.
After the sad morning, we hoped on a train to Greenwich village with the intentions of seeing the ''friends cafe'' and also a famous town house from sex and the city (mission completed).
I ticked off a life long ambition (bit of an exaggeration) of getting a donut from Dunkin Donuts. Its kind of like the English version of Krispy Creme, even though Krispy Creme is american :/ haha. The staff commented on our lovely british accents which made myself and Charlotte extremely happy :D.
After eating our daily calorie intake in donuts we walked along the High line. Its supposed to be a top place to visit, although the rain made it almost impossible to enjoy. I could see how it could be nice if it were sunny.
We later went on to check out Grand Central Station. We thought it be funny to pretend to be Serena from Gossip Girl. Any fan should remember the very first episode where Serena stands at the top of one of the stairs, and looks graciously down as if she's looking for someone. Well thats what we attempted to do, although we just merged into the public and didn't look as amazing as she did haha. I would say we looked rather goofy.
Time was of the essence and are trip was quickly coming to an end so we jumped in a cab and drove near to the Brooklyn bridge. Instead of driving across we walked it, or should I say speed walk haha. I literally don't think I've ever walked so fast in my life. We didn't have a lot of time as we had booked to go to the NBC studio tour. We got half way and turned around and jumped in yet another cab to the NBC studios.
NBC studios was quite interesting, but to be quite honest it was all about american TV and i didn't really know a huge deal about american talk shows and what not, so next time i would skip this part out. Even though it wasn't that great, WE SAW NEYO !!!!!! ......he was the first ''celeb'' i had seen out in public, both myself and Charlotte were quite star struck :)
xoxo
